Han Zhang is the presenter of this week. Born in Yichang, a beautiful small city at the heart of China, Han is currently a PhD Candidate in the department of Communication and Culture at York University, Canada. She is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the subject of language, translation, meaning, and cross-culture communication. She questions the problematic issues in literary translation: loss of meaning, vulnerability of language structure, and subjectivity of interpretation. Her research explores the translatability of cultural discourse in the field of public health, aging and urban culture.

در هفته چهاردهم و آخرین هفته از سری فیلم های بررسی سینمای مستقل، فیلم چینی “زندگی ساکن” به کارگردانی جیا ژانگ به نمایش در آمد و مورد تحلیل واقع شد.
کارگردان این فیلم از اعضای شاخص موج ششم سینمای چین میباشد، که در ابتدای کارنامه سینمایی خود با تاکید بر فرهنگ محلی استانش “شان شی” فیلمهایی بدون مجوز از دستگاه مرکزی و با لحنی انتقادی به صورت زیرزمینی ساخته است. او بعدا با توجه به تغییر در سیاستهای دولت، مانند سایر کارگردانان، از سیستم سینمای دولتی خارج شد و تاکنون، چند مستند در مورد مسائل اجتماعی چین را به روی پرده برده است.
فیلم اکران شده این هفته، درامی قوی در ارتباط با جدایی و فروپاشی خانواده، مهاجرت اجباری، از دست رفتن محل سکونت و شرایط کار سخت ساکنان و مهاجران شهر فنجی، به خاطر ساخته شدن سد بزرگ جرج در این شهر بود؛ که در آن کارگردان از دوربین دیجیتال، ریتم آرام، موزیکی نوستالژیک، حرکات دوربین هوشمندانه و انتخاب نماهای طبیعی و شهری فوقالعاده برای تاثیر گذاری بهتر بر روی مخاطبان استفاده کرده بود.
